Ohio Baptist Foundation - Funds Overview

The Ohio Baptist Foundation currently has more than 70 ministry funds that benefit Southern Baptist, Christian, and Charitable ministries around the globe. These funds assist Christian ministries in advancing the gospel of Jesus Christ in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, and in 37 foreign countries.

The Ohio Baptist Foundation has international endowment funds that assist more than 4600 Southern Baptist missionaries serving in almost every country in the world. These missionaries serve without the fear of raising ministry funds thanks in part to the Cooperative Mission Program of the Southern Baptist Convention, and to ministries like the OBF that provide additional funds for ministry needs.

The Ohio Baptist Foundation provides ministry support to more than 5200 Southern Baptist Missionaries serving in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. These missionaries serve in positions that fill almost every ministry position that serves the local church.

Multiple OBF funds are used to assist in the starting and strengthening of new church plants/starts in Ohio. These funds assist new churches with ministry needs during the initial phases of the church’s existence and help provide financial assistance with things such as evangelism outreach, staff development, public relations, office assistance, printing needs, marketing, and discipleship training material.

The OBF distributes funds that benefit the vast array of ministries being conducted by churches and associations cooperating with and affiliating with the State Convention of Baptists in Ohio.

The Ohio Baptist Foundation provides ministry support to collegiate missionaries serving on multiple Ohio college campuses. Currently our funds support collegiate work on the Ohio State University, Bowling Green State University, Kent State University, the University of Akron, Ohio Wesleyan University, the University of Cincinnati, Wright State University, and multiple community colleges.

The Ohio Baptist Foundation distributes assets benefiting Ohio students that are active members of Ohio Southern Baptist churches. These ministry funds assist students with educational needs at the Associate, Bachelor, Masters, and Doctoral degree levels. First priority is given to students pursuing careers in Christian ministry.

Multiple ministry funds currently assist individuals, churches, and associations that make requests outside the scope of International missions, North American missions, collegiate ministries, church planting, and scholarships. Current ministry and mission causes assisted by these funds include block parties and block party trailers, technology equipment, men’s and women’s retreats, children’s and youth camps, vacation bible school, counseling, and sports evangelism camps.
