Ohio Disaster Relief

Hurricane Relief

With the massive scope of damage caused by recent hurricanes, the response by believers has been immense. Here's ways Ohio SCBO churches and members may get involved.

DONATE TO OHIO DR There are many people who can't deploy, but who want to donate to help others. You can click  DONATE to give to this and other ways Ohio DR provides help to people affected by disaster. Y

DONATE STUFF TO PEOPLE IN DISASTER Many churches want to collect stuff and just drive it to a disaster area. We understand the desire to help, but that process really hurts efforts to help people. To assist churches in North Carolina who have needs connect with churches who want to donate, there is a way to make that connection. Contact Mark Abernathy at 919-291-3657 at NC Disaster Relief. He will connect churches & organizations with those in NC who are taking specific donated items.

There are no connections for Florida yet.

VOLUNTEER NEEDS: Ohio Disaster Relief is in need of more volunteers. We have an online process to get your credentials and deploy with a team to complete your training in the field. This process only takes 2 hours, but must be completed to deploy with an Ohio SBDR team. **Keep in mind you will not be assigned to a team until the credential process is complete.**

Here's the process: Click on "BEGIN THE TRAINING PROCESS NOW" below. That page outlines everything you need to know. There is a $45 fee to cover admin fees for your credentials. The online part, includes filling out 3 forms, watching the 1 hour Intro to Disaster Relief video and taking the quiz, only takes 2 hours. Then you can be assigned to a team.

Our agreement with FEMA and Emergency Management is that everyone has completed this process. You cannot just drive there and help, you must be part of an approved SBDR team that we send. The same is for church teams.

Contact John Heading, Ohio SBDR Director if you have questions. 614-309-9751
