Homegoing of Christy Lee Wellman Jordan

Christy Lee Wellman Jordan the daughter of Bill and Emily Wellman went home to be with her Lord Jesus December 2, 2019 at 3:50 PM.  Bill Wellman has served as the Associational Missionary for the Scioto Valley Baptist Association since February 1, 1997.

Bill and Emily welcomed Christy into their family June 2, 1974 in Louisville, Kentucky.  From her birth to her death, Christy lived a full life as attested by her husband, sons, granddaughter, parents, sisters, extended family, students, co-workers, and many friends.

Viewing will be December 5 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  Funeral services will be 11:00 AM December 6.  Both the viewing and the funeral will be at the Haller Funeral Home located at 1661 Western Avenue Chillicothe, Ohio 45601 (the phone number is 1-740-702-2149); the burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery.  Her father Bill Wellman will officiate.

In addition to her parents Bill and Emily Wellman of Jackson, Ohio, survivors include her husband Kirk E. Jordan.  They married July 28, 2001.  Their sons Andrew Jordan and Mathew Jordan of Chillicothe, Ohio and Jeremiah Jordan and granddaughter Stella Jordan of Florida survive as well.  Other survivors include her mother-in-law Sandra Wilson and father-in-law Gary Jordan of Chillicothe, Ohio, sisters Vicky Fout and her husband Toby of Columbus, Ohio and Allison Current and her husband John of Jackson, Ohio, plus several nieces and nephews, and many friends and co-workers from the Huntington School District who felt like family to Christy.

Christy earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the Ohio University and her Master’s Degree from the University of Rio Grande.  She taught in the Huntington School District for many years most recently teaching fourth grade science.  She served also as Cub Scout Master for Troop 5009.  Christy belonged to the Open Door Church for more than 10 years.
