COVID-19: Resource Center

This dedicated section of the SCBO website seeks to provide information and suggestions to Pastors and leaders of churches and associations affiliated with the State Convention of Baptists in Ohio as they navigate the challenges presented by the Coronavirus pandemic.

No doubt, many pastors and church leaders have reflected often on Psalms 56:3 and following since the Coronavirus reached Ohio. The Coronavirus merits grave concern and caution. Yet, trusting and praising God can enable Christians to face the challenges of the virus without paralyzing fear. We are praying for all church leaders to be empowered and guided by the Holy Spirit to lead Ohio Southern Baptist churches and associations to trust and praise God and His word during these challenging days ahead. He is worthy of our trust and praise. Let’s press toward that mark.

Volunteers are needed. The national CDC agency is looking for churches to assist during this time. [We are NOT being asked to encounter those who are suffering with COVID-19 or it’s symptoms.] Most of the current plans for volunteer help can be thought of as an “Amazon delivery style” drop-and-go to provide for practical needs. Understand we are still defining the process and ministry opportunity.

This is a ministry opportunity for the church to demonstrate Christ!

If you and your church will be willing to serve your community during this time, you need to contact Sam Kelley at the SCBO.

Your Mission Ohio Resource Team is gathering information and suggestions and sharing them here for our churches. We welcome your ideas and experiences as Pastors and church leaders also. You may email them to covid@scbo.org.
