2008
Mission
Celebration,
formally
known
as
the
Ohio
Annual
WMU
Meeting,
will
set
a
new
standard
for
the
Annual
Meeting.
Ohio
WMU
has
partnered
with
the
State
Convention
of
Baptists
in
Ohio
(SCBO)
Evangelism
Resource
Group,
and
the
North
American
Mission
Board
to
plan,
prepare,
and
participate
in
an
On
Mission
Celebration
(OMC)
in
Ohio.
The
target
association
will
be
the
SCBO
Impact
Association.
If
an
Impact
Association
declines,
the
Ohio
WMU
officers
will
work
with
SCBO
Women’s
Missions
and
Ministries
Resource
Group
to
schedule
an
OMC
in
an
association
that
has
once
been
an
Impact
Association.
All
Ohio
WMU
members
and
women
of
all
ages
interested
in
missions
are
invited
to
attend
the
Mission
Celebration
which
will
meet
at
the
OMC
Host
Church
on
Saturday
morning
before
the
Kick-Off
Potluck.
The
purpose
of
the
Mission
Celebration
is
to
Celebrate
God’s
work
through
WMU
in
Ohio
and
to
elect
new
state
officers.
All
Ohio
WMU
members,
Southern
Baptists
of
all
ages
interested
in
missions,
and
especially
church
members
of
the
target
association
are
invited
to
participate
in
the
OMC
Kick-Off
Potluck
on
Saturday
night.
The
purpose
of
an
On
Mission
Celebration
is
three-fold:
1.
To
celebrate
God’s
activity
and
victories
through
leading
Southern
Baptists
to
be
on
mission
with
God.
2.
To
anticipate
their
role
in
God’s
mission.
3.
To
participate
by
committing
to
be
on
mission
with
Him.
The
OMC
introduces
international,
North
American,
state,
and
local
missionaries
and
highlights
continuing
mission
needs
and
opportunities.
An
OMC
Kick-Off
Potluck
offers
a
festive
and
energetic
atmosphere
in
which
the
Southern
Baptist
vision
and
commitment
to
missions
is
communicated
in a
clear
and
compelling
manner. |
