2008 SBC Church Compensation Survey Underway

It’s time to participate in the 2008 SBC Church Compensation Survey.  Sponsored by state Baptist conventions, GuideStone and LifeWay, the survey helps finance and personnel committees and church administrators establish salary and benefits for ministers and support staff. Individual responses are kept confidential. If you are a minister or an employee of a Southern Baptist church, please visit the survey site to learn more. The survey is available until April 15, 2008.

2006 SBC COMPENSATION STUDY

This survey of compensation of ministers, office personnel & custodians of Southern Baptist churches was conducted as a joint project of SBC state conventions in cooperation with the Annuity Board, SBC. Reports are based on compensation for 20,288 individuals serving 8,602 SBC churches in all 50 states.

Most compensation study reports restrict a person to gleaning data totally from pre-determined tables.  A unique feature of this study is the customized study report  Using this option a report can be prepared giving averages for only those churches of similar attendance, membership and budget.

While the survey data is made available with respect for the autonomy of each  local church, the information can help a church be more objective in its consideration of appropriate staff compensation.
