Sue Sligh Homegoing

Sue Sligh, age 59, suffered a massive and fatal heart attack on the way home from work January 16, 2012.  Her funeral will be conducted January 20, 2012 11:00 A.M. at the Groveport First Baptist Church 5521 Groveport Road Groveport, OH with Pastor Greg Cooper officiating.  Burial will be in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.  Viewing will be January 19, 2012 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home (www.kaubersammons.com) 289 South Main Street in Pataskala, OH 43062.

Born January 4, 1953 to James and Eileen (Ratliff) Freeman in Columbus, Ohio, she is survived by her husband of 39 years David Sligh, daughters Lydia (Michael) Smith and Tabitha (Luke) McKeeth, grandchildren Mikayla, Isaac, Zachariah, and Elijah, mother Eileen Freeman, siblings Jim Freeman, Ed (Lee) Freeman, David (Terry) Freeman, Judy (Rich) Rupp, and Carolyn (Michael) Gordon.  Her father James Freeman preceded her in death.

Sue’s family described her as a “loving wife, mom, and grandma.”  They cherish the fact that she lived her life faithfully for the Lord.  She enjoyed singing, teaching Sunday School, and interpreting for the deaf community.

From November 2, 1998 to January 16, 2012, Sue rendered faithful and diligent service to Mission Ohio.  She served as an administrative assistant in the Women’s and Missions Resource Group, the Church Services Resource Group, and the Evangelism Resource Group.

The offices of the State Convention of Baptists in Ohio will be closed all day Friday January 20, 2012 so her coworkers can attend the funeral services.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the Ohio Baptist Foundation in memory of Sue Sligh to the attention of Jack Helton at 9000 Antares Avenue Columbus, OH 43240.
