State Evangelism Celebration gets a new look, a new starting time, and a new name

For several decades, the State Convention Evangelism Resource Group has sponsored the annual State Evangelism Celebration, also know as SEC. In years past the primary focus of SEC was promoting evangelism through evangelistic preaching. Although the emphasis on evangelism will not change (and there will still be great preaching), in 2011 we will expand the SEC ministry format to include several “workshops”  that will encompass the concept of accelerating churches and leaders to be better equipped in the ministry areas of sharing Christ, starting churches, and developing leadership.

In recent years SEC has started at 1:45 pm on the last Monday in February. This year it will begin at 10:00 am (Cedarville’s Monday chapel time). This change is needed to facilitate our first two workshops which will begin at 11:45 am on Monday, February 21st.

Finally, you might be wondering “what is the new name for SEC?”  Well, here it is………………..

I pray you are already making plans to attend next year’s event. It will be held on February 21-22, 2011, on the campus of Cedarville University. Every church in Ohio will be receiving a full MOMENTUM information packet that will be mailed on November 8, 2010.
