Pastor James Edwards of Antwerp Passes Away

Pastor James L. Edwards, 71, of Antwerp went home to be with Jesus at 6:30 A.M. January 19, 2011 at his home.  Jim was born in Berwyn, WV January 24, 1939, to the late Ruby "Lake" (Turner) and Steve Edwards.

Brother Jim always shared the joy of his relationship with Jesus Christ.  Following this joy was the relationship with his wife Lorene.  They enjoyed 40 years of marital bliss until her death in 1998.

Pastor Edwards also relished in the joy of serving two great churches: Second Baptist Church of Defiance for 20 years and First Baptist Church of Antwerp for 30 years. 

James Edwards is survived by his daughters Susan (Douglas) Zeller of Antwerp & Pam (Ric) Casilli of Lynn, MA; son Tim of Antwerp; sister June Hale of Mark Center; brothers Bert of Bristol, VA & Harold of Weston, OH; grandchildren Steven & Nichole & great grandchildren, Myah, Olivia, & Ramon.  He is also preceded in death by his sister Theda Miller & brother Grey.

Viewing for Pastor Edwards will be January 21 Friday 2-8 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Antwerp and from 10-11 A.M. Saturday January 22 at First Baptist Church of Antwerp.

His funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church of Antwerp at 11 A.M. on
Saturday, January 22, 2011.  Pastors Todd Murray, Levi Collins, and Allen Miller will officiate.  Burial will be at the Maumee Cemetery.
