New Day Church rallies support for young Cameron Neal’s fight against cancer
The life of Cameron Neal and his entire family has been a blur since April when Cameron was diagnosed with a malignant cancer, Anaplastic Ependymoma. As a result of the diagnosis, a large tumor the size of a baseball was successfully removed from his brain. Cameron has subsequently begun a series of radiation treatments in Bloomington, Indiana.
New Day Church (www.newdaysbc.com) learned of Cameron’s medical issues from a local Pastor and, through the leadership of Pastor Barry Jude (www.broadlf.com/NewDay/blog/), has surrounded the family with much needed prayer, physical and financial support. Most exciting of all: through the touch of the Holy Spirit, Cameron received Christ as Savior and was baptized along with his entire family last Sunday. Following the baptism, New Day Church presented the Neal family with $2,000 collected from those attending the Church’s services that morning.
“When God puts people in our lives, it’s our responsibility to respond to their needs as much as we are able,” Jude said. “When we introduced Cameron and his family to Christ and the prayer support of New Day Church, we gave the family our richest and most generous gift. But we wanted to help them with their financial needs, too.”
Pastor Jude continued, “The Neal family will face many challenges during the up-coming months as Cameron fights to rid himself of all traces of the cancer. New Day Church encourages you to join us in continued prayer for Cameron and family. Financial support can be made through donations in his name to either our Church or through The Cameron Neal Foundation, available at any PNC Bank location. A Facebook site “Praying for Cameron” has also been created to provide updates on Cameron’s progress.”
