Logan Elm Baptist Church in Circleville, Ohio blasted off into space on June 7-11 for VBS this year with it's theme of "Operation Space: A Close Encounter with God's Word."  We kicked off VBS in our community with "Run for the Son", a two-mile race. The children and youth also distributed fliers in local neighborhoods to promote VBS. These special outreach events helped the church to have one of its most fruitful VBS in years. One of the highlights of this year’s VBS was the special missions offering the children collected each evening.  The friendly competition was between the boys and girls to see who could give the most to the VBS missions effort. A large wooden scale/balance was made and buckets were labeled, one for the boys and one for the girls, and attached to the scales in which children placed their offerings. In a huge upset, the boys won the challenge by one penny, giving over $350.00 to support the special ministry of Dave and Pam Atkinson, members of Logan Elm Baptist Church, who are serving in Thailand with the International Mission Board. Our VBS missions offering will help buy school supplies for some of the Thai children involved in Dave and Pam’s classes. The Lord blessed this VBS with great attendance, beautiful weather, wonderful volunteers and teachers, and salvation decisions made for the Lord.  We thank God for how He was glorified in our efforts to honor His name!

Logan Elm recently held their first "Run for the Son,” a two-mile family run/walk for the entire community. The event was held at the church on Saturday, June 5th. Over 200 people participated and volunteered in the special outreach event to kick off our Vacation Bible School. Before the race began, Senior Pastor Jeff Moats gave a brief devotion and presented the plan of salvation to all the participants. Gift sacks that included a Bible were given out to all participants.T-shirts were given out to all who completed the two-mile race. There were plenty of fun activities for the entire family to enjoy: free food, face painting, chalk drawing, bouncy house and other games. The church's "Kitchen Angels" served plenty of healthy snacks and drinks to all the participants. Everyone enjoyed the live music and Pastor Jeff presented the race trophies to all the winners in the various team categories. The Lord blessed the event with beautiful weather and a wonderful turn out as we sought a creative way to promote health, fitness and VBS outreach in our community.
