Retired Pastor William Thomas “Tom” Walters was born Januray 18, 1941 and went home to be with Jesus March 29, 2011.  He is survived by his wife Elsie Montgomery Walters of almost 51 years.  His son William Edward Thomas and his parents Tracy and Opal Lee Covey Walters preceded him in death.

He served several terms on the Mission Council of the State Convention of Baptists in Ohio.  Brother Tom served as the parliamentarian for the annual meetings of the State Convention of Baptists in Ohio from 2002 through 2010.  Pastor Walters also led numerous Sunday school conferences.

“A lover of Jesus and Ohio Baptists,” has summarized the comments from friends when they learned of the homegoing of Tom Walters.  Brother Tom’s life and ministry reflected a genuine love for Jesus.  He demonstrated his deep appreciation to Southern Baptists for reaching him for Christ.
