Dublin Baptist Church becomes Debt Free!
In these difficult economic times, God’s amazing sufficiency may still be witnessed. That is how the members of Dublin Baptist Church feel, as the congregation is now debt free. This comes following their final mortgage payment on February 17, 2010. “The last few years have been particularly tough as we try to maintain quality ministries, meet everyday expenses, and build a Children’s Wing. Combine those essential needs with paying off a $2.2 million mortgage and you have a God-sized challenge.” said Michael Wise, Minister of Business Administration.
“Our financial strategy was two-fold. One: to raise enough capital to build the Children’s Wing debt-free. And two: to pay off our existing debt earlier than 2013. These aggressive goals, set in 2006, were greatly impacted by the economic downturn. However, by God’s grace, the sacrificial giving of our members and their prayers, and a sincere effort to reduce expenses, we built a much needed Children’s Wing debt-free, and paid off our existing mortgage three years early.” said Wise.
“We give God the glory for this accomplishment,” commented Darrell Gabbard, Senior Pastor. “This enables us to focus the financial resources provided by God through the giving of His people on ministry. We look forward with great anticipation to see what God will do next as we pursue our vision of becoming Christ-like people who magnify God, mature believers, minister to others and multiply believers."
