April MK of the Month - Marissa Smith
I live in Pickerington, Ohio. I will be 11 years old on April 25.
This year I am in the fifth grade at a new public middle school. I am trying to get to know other students better so that I can tell them about Jesus.
I have lots of favorites. My favorite colors include aqua, lime green, bright yellow, and hot pink. My favorite flowers are white lilies and yellow roses. We have a big flower garden at our house. One odd thing that I like is thunderstorms. It’s cool to watch the lightning. But I would rather not wake up because of a storm!
My parents are Bruce and Melanie Smith. My mom is a piano teacher. We have a studio in our house. She is teaching me how to play. She is also the choir director at our church, Violet Baptist Church. My dad helps missionaries to serve in Ohio. He also works with leaders of the sixteen associations in Ohio. An association is a group of churches. Pray that more leaders will start new churches. Pray for more churches to reach the millions of people in Ohio who need to know Jesus.
I have two sisters. Mylea is 19 and is in college. She is preparing to be a third-grade teacher. She also wants to be a missionary. She went to Japan for six weeks last
summer. Mikayla is 16 and is in high school. She loves theater and the color guard that twirls flags with the band. Our family has a toy poodle named Brownie and a kisser fish named Smackers.
My favorite hobbies are drawing, painting, and reading. I like drawing things in nature, such as flowers, trees, animals, beaches, and mountains. When I grow up, I want to be an artist, a missionary, a fashion designer—or all of these!
Yours truly,
Marissa
