September 25th Hillcrest Baptist Church hosted relationship experts Bill and Pam Farrell for an encouraging three-session seminar. Our day began with a refreshing atmosphere of worship led by our praise team that prepared our hearts for the message. Bill and Pam challenged the congregation with “Keys to Successful Relationships,” taken from Song of Solomon 2:1-15.  Their practical advice and quick wit made the morning fly by. After a fulfilling Baptist lunch buffet, we gathered back for the second session, which overviewed the Farrell’s bestselling book; Men Are Like Waffles, Women Are Like Spaghetti. Once again, they offered practical skills for living out Godly relationships. Our day concluded with an interesting session on basic motivation styles. Couples in the audience had opportunity to share in the conversation by engaging one another and talking through the topics. Bouts of laughter and moments of stillness hovered over those present as we considered the different ways God has wired us, and how we can use those differences to delight in one another. One attendee testifies, “I now know how and desire to be a better wife, mother, and grandmother.” Overall, it was an informing day in which we grew in our understanding of one another and found hope not just for our marriages, but all relationships.  With Gratitude, Associate Pastor Daniel McCarty

Bill and Pam Farrel also led the Pastor/Staff and Spouse Retreat for the Bible Teaching/Leadership Resource Group of the State Convention of Baptists in Ohio. Onoe pastor wrote:  "My wife and I were so blessed.  It was encouraging and challenging.  A marriage has to be built and the building process never ends.  I learned things about myself and my wife.  I saw areas that I need to work on to be a better husband and person in Christ.  I cannot say enough...God really moved and I fell more in love with Him and my wife through this conference"
