Pray for the Horn - Dark2Light
Womens Missions and Ministries Resource Group is excited to
share opportunities for you and everyone in your church to get involved in
reaching the world for Jesus, especially the Horn of Africa. We have M’s who call Ohio home and they
are asking for one million people globally to commit to p’ay for the one
hundred million people who make up the forty-two unreached people groups in the
Horn of Africa.
WMM has designed several promotion pieces for all age levels and hands on activities for children, Christian schools, and home school. An exerpt from the Pray for the Horn website reads: “The vision the Father has given us is simple. We believe the Lord is leading us to unite a worldwide network of 1 MILLION believers who will join with us to specifically pr and fast for the advancement of His Kingdom among the peoples of the Horn during the month of April 2012. The peoples of Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, NE Kenya and Somalia have a total population of 100 million. Both Eritrea and Somalia currently have little or no Christian witness among them. In Ethiopia & NE Kenya, there are numerous people groups who have no access to the Gospel in their heart language, while Islam remains the stronghold for the peoples of Djibouti.
Throughout history, the Horn peoples have been
afflicted by countless wars, famines and rampant poverty. Because of
these hardships, they have been dispersed among the nations, particularly
Europe and North Africa, and into the Middle East. Often they work and
live in countries that have little to no access to the Gospel. Reaching
the Horn peoples for Christ provides a gateway for the Gospel to be spread
among many nations.
From local believers in Ethiopia, to the believing
population in China, Europe, the Americas and everywhere in between, we are
inviting the worldwide Christian community to join us next April as we embrace
this kairos moment and ask the Father of all creation to show
His glory among the millions of people living in darkness across the
Horn. As passionately as Isaiah’s heart was for the people of
Israel, we want to prepare the way for the peoples of the Horn, building up the
highways and removing the stones. We want to raise the banner for the
peoples of the Horn and proclaim to them that their Savior has come and their
reward is with Him.”
