Hundreds Saved & Baptized in Dayton, Ohio

On Friday and Saturday, July 15-16 crowds of people gathered each evening in Dayton, Ohio's Washington Park to participate in a Hope Over Heroin event. This collective effort of over 60 churches saw at least 275 people saved and baptized!

Randy Chestnut, of Hope Community Church - Old North Dayton was a first time participant with Hope for Heroin. His experience last weekend led him to declare that "It was truly an amazing move of God."  Given the task during the event of collecting the contact information of those making decisions for Christ, Randy's focus has now shifted to connecting the new believers with local churches.  Hope Community Church - OND will begin offering a bible study program call "Stories of Hope" on Monday night, July 18 at 6:30pm. This new program has been described by Randy Chestnut as a "Discovery Bible Study" featuring seven weeks of exploring stories from the Gospels. He has expressed hope that many who attended the Hope Over Heroin event and others from the community will be involved.

Randy shared several prayer requests via e-mail. He asked for others to join him in prayer for:

  • Boldness, clarity and patience
  • That God would prompt many to join the group at Hope Community
  • That God's word would penetrate the hearts of the lost and we would see many more saved!
  • A church planting movement in the recovery community in Southwestern Ohio
